How to Clean the Microwave

Posted by Leisa Watkins On October - 15 - 2011 Comments Off

Materials Needed

  • A Micro Cloth dish cloth (use regular dish cloth if necessary)
  • A microwave
  • A Microwave Safe Bowl or Glass
  • Vinegar (1 TBSP)

How To

  1. Fill a microwave-safe glass or bowl half full of water and add a tablespoon of white vinegar.
  2. Place the bowl inside the microwave.
  3. Set the microwave for five minutes and turn it on.
  4. IMPORTANT:  After the time is up let it sit for five minutes before opening and removing the glass.  This allows the steam to do a lot of the work for you, and it keeps your hands safe from burns.
  5. Remove the glass bowl and the glass tray. Place the glass tray and plastic rotating guide in hot soapy water while you clean out the microwave.
  6. Wipe down the entire inside of the microwave with a camp Micro Cloth sponge.. Rinse and needed and repeat until the microwave is clean.  (Don’t forget the top of the inside of the microwave)
  7. Wipe down the glass tray and plastic rotating guide with your sponge and dry off with a dish cloth. Place back in the microwave.
  8. Clean the outside with a spray of vinegar cleaner and your damp sponge.
  9. Put all your supplies away.
  10. Report that the job is done so your work can be inspected.
